15 Leading Publishers of K-12 Scientific Instructional Materials

5. Carolina Biological sells hands-on kits for biotechnology, life science, physical and earth science, and more.

6. Cengage Learning produces instructional materials for higher education, and it also has a K-12 education division in partnership with National Geographic Learning.

7. Discovery Education’s online science program includes Science Techbook for grades K-12 and Discovery Education, a science-themed K-12 learning platform.

8. Houghton Mifflin Harcourt now focuses solely on K-12 education and offers core science curriculum and science-related non-fiction.

9. Kendall Hunt publishes a science curriculum for elementary schools under the Insights brand.

10. Lab-Aids offers digital and print science programs for middle and high schools, including core science programs and supplementary kits.

11. McGraw Hill’s brands for science including Inspire Science, available at the elementary, middle, and high school level, and iScience for high schools.

12. OpenSciEd is an open educational resource that is free to anyone. Value-added versions are also available through a variety of commercial partners. 

13. PASCO scientific is a maker of science lab equipment and teacher resources at the middle and high school levels.

14. Savvas Learning, formerly Pearson K12 Learning, markets a variety of educational materials to K-12 schools, including elevateScience, Interactive Science, and Project STEM.

15. School Specialty is a school and teacher supply distributor with two divisions that are key players in the science materials space.
